Our history

1993

Created on November 29, 1993 by the takeover of a plant belonging to Sanofi, the company initially specialized in the production of sterile single-dose polyethylene products such as saline, asthma products and eye drops.

1995

The technology used was Blow Fill Seal (BFS), which made it possible to produce a sterile dose in a single manufacturing step.

1997

The company expanded into global markets, with exports throughout Europe and the development of commercial, operational and regulatory expertise for international customers.

2002

Unither acquired a second plant in Coutances (France) for the manufacture of sterile single-dose units.

2005

In 2005, UNITHER decided to pursue its development by acquiring Créapharm, a French manufacturer specializing in effervescent tablets and benefiting from a development center for third parties.

2006

The launch of Unistick® stick-packs for liquid and paste forms marked a major step forward in our ability to offer single-dose stick solutions.

2009

Unither took over the Colomiers site from Sanofi in order to develop liquid stick-pack technology, thereby expanding the list of products that could be sold in single-dose form.

2010

Launch of Uniflash®, a new patented oral transmucosal drug delivery system (OMC) that is comparable to an intravenous solution.

2011

The company went international with the opening of an office in Brazil.

2013

Unither continued its international expansion by acquiring an American plant from the Belgian group UCB in Rochester.

2015

Unither Pharmaceuticals strengthened its presence on the South American continent through the acquisition of the Brazilian CDMO Mariol Industrial.

2016

Creation of Unither Pharmaceuticals’ subsidiary in China: Unither Pharmaceutical Technologies (Wuhan) Co LTD.

2017

Launch of saline solutions at Gannat plant

2019

First commercial batches of BFS in Rochester

2020

Launch of Preservative-free multidose at Coutances plant

2020

Acquisition of the Unither Nanjing Pharmaceuticals factory in China in Nanjing.

2022

Acquisition of the Novartis plant in Butantã, São Paulo
